Take a Tour of Our Campus
The best way to fully experience what DIA offers is to come and tour. Our School Director personally gives tours most every week. We invite you to call our front desk team today to secure a tour date and time. Until then, please click on the images below to take a virtual tour of our school.
APPLICATION AND ENROLLMENT
Enrollment for the current school year is offered year-round as availability permits. If the slots are filled, your child will be added to the Openings/Wait-list until a slot becomes available. Open enrollment for the following school year is offered in mid-January, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are delighted that you have an interest in applying to Daniel Island Academy. We work hard to keep the process easy. You may complete an Enrollment Application at any time. Please note, current students and their siblings are offered advanced re-enrollment for the following school year beginning in mid-November. Open Enrollment occurs in mid-January.
- We recommend, after reviewing the website, to schedule a tour with our school director, Kerry Nowosielski. Please complete the form at the top of the page by clicking on the Contact Us button. A representative will reach out shortly. You are welcome to stop by the front desk or call us at 843-971-5961 as well.
- The next step is to waitlist or guarantee your spot by submitting the enrollment application and enrollment program form (Half Day, Full Day 10-month or Full Day 12-month), along with payment. (see tuition and fees on Important Documents page)
- Once you are notified of an opening you can accept or stay on the waitlist.
- If you accept, you will turn in your Master Enrollment Packet which includes submission of an Immunization Shot Record and Enrollment Fee (equals tuition rate - applies to last two weeks of school year and will become non-refundable after 30 days).
- We can then schedule a meet the teacher appointment prior to beginning class.
A waitlist status is dependent upon the date of submission of an Enrollment Application/Forms/Fee and Registration Fee ($150). Wait list preference is given to siblings of current students and children of DIA employees. If your child is on the waiting list and you are notified of an available enrollment option, you will have three calendar days to submit your guaranteed enrollment payment. If you accept, tuition payments will begin the Monday following your acceptance. Tuition payments will begin based on our tuition schedule.
You may also elect to remain on the waitlist. Once you choose to be wait-listed again, you may opt to decline one other offer. Full tuition payment is required to hold an available space in a classroom even if you choose to begin attending DIA at a later date. If you elect to remain on the waiting list, your initial application date noted on the list will be changed to reflect the date in which you decided to remain on the list, causing your position on the waiting list to be affected. Once you choose to be waitlisted again, you may opt to decline one other offer. If you decline that offer, your Enrollment Fee becomes nonrefundable if it is within the allotted 30 day requirement. Full tuition payment is required to hold an available space in a classroom even if you choose to begin attending DIA at a later date.
Valid and current contact information is the responsibility of the parent. DIA will not be held responsible for invalid contact information on the waitlist.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our front desk team.
Re-Enrollment forms are distributed in mid-November and are due along with payment by mid-January, prior to Open Enrollment, which is offered on a first in, first served basis. A new Re-Enrollment Packet and fees must be completed each year, for each child. Note that classes are often over-subscribed by current families prior to Open Enrollment, so while an early enrollment period is offered, these are also accepted on a first in, first served basis. This period is also the time in which siblings of current students need to complete their paperwork.
Each year parents are also required to complete a new Master Registration Packet. These packets must be completed and returned by July with the Enrollment Fee in preparation for the upcoming school year. If enrollment occurs during the current school year, all documents must be completed prior to enrollment and your child's scheduled start date.

ABC CHILD CARE PROGRAM
The ABC Child Care Program is the statewide SC system designed to deliver child care services under a federally-funded grant program. The ABC Child Care Quality program pays providers to care for children of low-income families so parents can work. In addition, the ABC Child Care Program has a number of activities and projects that help improve child care programs throughout the state, and make them more available and affordable to families that need them. We are proud to participate in many of these capstone and pilot programs.
SC First Steps to School Readiness was created as a statewide public-private partnership to increase school readiness outcomes for four year-old children. Enrollment is offered at no cost to eligible children. Review the eligibility requirements.
MILITARY CHILD CARE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD PROGRAM

Preferred Provider requirements include having a state license, national accreditation and an annual inspection in the past 12 months free of disqualifying incidents.
