ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

Take a Tour of Our Campus

The best way to fully experience what DIA offers is to come and tour. Our School Director personally gives tours most every week. We invite you to call our front desk team today to secure a tour date and time.

APPLICATION AND ENROLLMENT

Enrollment for the current school year is offered year-round as availability permits. If the slots are filled, your child will be added to the waitlist until a slot becomes available. Open Enrollment for the following school year is offered in mid-January, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are delighted that you have an interest in applying to Daniel Island Academy. We work hard to keep the process easy. Please note, current students and their siblings are offered advanced re-enrollment for the following school year beginning in mid-November. Open Enrollment occurs in mid-January.
  • We recommend, after reviewing the website, to schedule a tour with our school director, Kerry Nowosielski. Please complete the form at the top of the page by clicking on the Contact Us button. A representative will reach out shortly. You are welcome to stop by the front desk or call us at 843-971-5961 as well.
  • The next step is to waitlist or guarantee your spot by submitting the enrollment application and enrollment program form (Full Day 10-month or Full Day 12-month), along with payment. (forms and fees can be accessed on Important Documents page)
  • Once you are notified of an opening you can accept or stay on the waitlist.
  • If you accept, you will turn in your Master Enrollment Packet in addition to 2 Emergency Cards and immunization record and Enrollment Fee (equals tuition rate, applies to the last two weeks of the school year and will become non-refundable after 30 days of receipt or following the first day of attendance).
  • We can then schedule a meet the teacher appointment prior to beginning class.
  • If enrollment occurs during the current school year, all documents must be completed prior to your child's scheduled start date.

WAITLIST STATUS

A waitlist status is dependent upon the date of submission of an Enrollment Application, program form and registration fee ($150 new, $75 returning). Waitlist preference is given to siblings of current students and children of DIA employees. If your child is on the waitlist and you are notified of an available enrollment option and wish to guarantee the spot, you will have 3 hours (or next day by 9:00am if offer is received after 3:00pm) to accept the offer and 2 business days to submit your guaranteed enrollment payment (tuition deposit - equals your tuition rate and exclusively applicable to the last two weeks of the school year). Tuition payments will be determined in accordance to our tuition schedule of the applicable school year. Moving forward, full tuition will be required to hold a spot even if you choose to begin attending DIA later than the offered start date.

You may also defer an offer and elect to remain on the waitlist. A First Deferral allows a student to remain in his/her original placement. A Second Deferral will result in moving to the bottom of the waitlist. Valid contact information is the responsibility of the parent. DIA will not be responsible for invalid contact information of waitlist families. If NO RESPONSE is received within 2 business days after an attempt to contact you via phone and email, you will be removed from the waitlist altogether.

Please contact the front desk immediately if you wish to be removed from the waitlist, which will help maintain accuracy. If you elect to be removed from the waitlist and then request to be put back on, your initial registration date will change to reflect the date in which you decided to return to the list.

You are welcome to contact the front desk to inquire about your status at any time.

Re-Enrollment forms are distributed to current families in mid-November and are due along with payment by mid-January, prior to Open Enrollment, which is offered on a first in, first served basis. A new Early Enrollment Packet and fees must be completed each year, for each child. Note that classes are often over-subscribed by current families prior to Open Enrollment, so while an early enrollment period is offered, these are also accepted on a first in, first served basis. This period is also the time in which siblings of current students need to complete their paperwork.

Master Enrollment packets will be distributed mid-May to all guaranteed families for the upcoming school year. Packets must be completed and returned to the front desk, along with the first tuition payment by July. Spots are subject to forfeit if paper work and first tuition are not submitted within the allotted time frame.

FINANCIAL AID

Daniel Island Academy is an approved State of South Carolina ABC Program facility and a preferred provider for the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) Program. This means that we provide tuition assistance for qualified ABC candidates (approved or pending approval).

ABC CHILD CARE PROGRAM

The ABC Child Care Program is the statewide SC system designed to deliver child care services under a federally-funded grant program. The ABC Child Care Quality program pays providers to care for children of low-income families so parents can work. In addition, the ABC Child Care Program has a number of activities and projects that help improve child care programs throughout the state, and make them more available and affordable to families that need them. We are proud to participate in many of these capstone and pilot programs.

FIRST STEPS

SC First Steps to School Readiness was created as a statewide public-private partnership to increase school readiness outcomes for four year-old children. Enrollment is offered at no cost to eligible children. Review the eligibility requirements.
